Where No One Should Go - African Cave Diving

http://snapjudgment.org/where-no-one-should-go
There are not a lot of good journalism pieces on scuba diving outside of the dive community, particularly not on tech diving.  This radio story concentrates on extreme cave diving in South Africa - to depths of 900 ft (obviously not close what we do in no decompression recreational diving, but it is still a great recording).

It definitely conveys the many dangers / risks of cave diving and decompression diving - so not for your buddies that you're trying to get into scuba.

It was originally published on the Snap Judgement podcast and then recently part of NPR's This American Life last week.

Very cool radio article - definitely recommended.

Kayaks n Scuba

Well, you missed a great informational club meeting this week on Kayaks for diving and fishing.  We covered kayak selection, safety, packing for scuba, and all kinds of other info for getting started.  Kayaks are a great way to travel to hard to reach dive sites without a powerboat.

It was so good , that our next club meeting will actually take place in the La Canada Sport Chalet pool on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, at 6:00 pm in the POOL. That’s right, in the pool.

We are putting at least 2 kayaks in the pool to have you try out getting on and off the kayaks with scuba gear and without and get a feel for balancing, etc…. So come along and at least, bring your wet suit, fins and mask and lets have some fun.  OK ?
